No. No one should be using jQuery anymore. Period. It was super helpful a decade ago. It is no longer needed. The DOM has proper queries, there are superior patterns, and more and more reasons.

What is propping up jQuery is Wordpress and the decreasing PHP programmers.

Beau, honestly - I could give a crap if you use jQuery. The issue is, there are junior developers on Medium too. They come around looking for educational material. And like the flat-earther's, your articles are promoting falsehoods.

For ANYONE who happened here to learn information. You do not need jQuery at all. It is a mistake to spend ANY time learning or using it.

And Beau is wrong about Microsoft. They are modernizing all their web apps over time WITHOUT jQuery. There are legacy apps that still have parts that linger.
